Max Payne is still one of my all time favorite games. What else do you need: NYPD cop who's family is killed, guns galore, great dialog, film noir look and "Bullit Time" where you can slow down the action.
Keep and eye out for the scene where Max is at the top of the staircase and two bad guys in SWAT gear are talking about "Best Movie Scenes of all Time". It is a classic! Max Payne II is supposed to come out Fall 2003.
